About AUAF
The American University of Afghanistan is Afghanistan’s only private, not-for-profit, non-partisan and co-educational university. It opened its doors in 2006 with an initial enrollment of 50 students, and today enrolls more than 1,700 full and part-time students. It has produced 29 Fulbright Scholars and maintains partnerships with the world’s most prestigious universities, including Stanford University, Georgetown University, University of Maryland, and the University of California network.
The Women’s Center
The Center is a 5,500-square-meter building built on the International Campus of AUAF. The Center houses state of the art computer labs, video conferencing and research facilities, classrooms and a 200-seat auditorium. Its programs will foster lasting networks, raise public awareness, and coordinate knowledge management.
The Center is the first of its kind and is providing leadership and support to women’s aspirations in the workplace. Its mission is to connect the numerous public and private sector entities engaged in the economic empowerment of women.
