Current Gifts

Unrestricted Funds
Unrestricted funds allow the University to use gifts as it sees fit, where current needs are greatest. Unrestricted funds may be used for many kinds of assistance, including: Student and Faculty support, Books, Classroom supplies, among others.

Designated Funds
The best way to make a designated donation is to discuss your wishes with a Friends of AUAF staff member. He or she can help you draft a request letter for a more efficient, effective gift process. Please call (202) 775-5901 to discuss your wishes.
Examples of designated funds include: Scholarships, Academic Programs, New Campus Construction (land development or buildings).

Annual Fund
Gifts to the Annual Fund provide an important source of operational revenue. They are usually used in the year they are received and can be used to support day-to-day needs.
